Deburring machines can be simple units with a single motor capable of accommodating either one or two cutter heads, or they can have two motors/spindles, allowing them to operate with up to four cutters. There are also variants with three cutter heads per shaft, but we consider these a completely ill-advised choice as there is a very high risk of the shaft developing play, meaning the cutter at the end of the shaft could have a rotational deviation of up to 2 mm. The most convenient option for equipping a workshop would be a CNC deburring machine, as this (depending on the manufacturer) can also perform other operations for cleaning the weld bead corner, operations which cannot be carried out on conventional machines (e.g. deburring the internal corner, the gasket channel, white and coloured profiles without changing the cutters, etc.). Furthermore, CNC deburring machines offer exceptional versatility, in that a workshop equipped with this type of machinery can handle an unlimited number of profile brands and series—something virtually impossible with conventional deburring machines, which would require frequent changes to the cutter set (a compromise solution would be a single-axis deburring machine with quick-change cutters, but this would still have the disadvantage of a limited number of operations – only the sides and the outer corner)
