Welding machines are used to join PVC profiles at right angles, both standard angles (90°) and variable angles (usually between 30° and 180°).
The most common welding machines are single-head and double-head models, depending on the workshop’s capacity; however, triple-head, quadruple-head and even six-head welding machines are also available! These are usually only accessible to large companies due to their high purchase costs and enable very high productivity.
It is important to note that although most welding machine manufacturers configure them to melt 3 mm of the profile at a time, certain Italian manufacturers prefer the melting to be only 2.5 mm; consequently, if you use a production optimisation programme (Fenestra, Winarhi, etc.), it is advisable to check whether it allows you to adjust this value in accordance with the machine you own.
Another important aspect of welding PVC profiles is the welding machine’s ability to limit the weld bead to 0.2 mm for laminated profiles. Normally, for welding white profiles, a 2 mm weld bead is sufficient to achieve good mechanical strength of the weld; however, for laminated profiles, particularly white ones with a film coating, a 0.2 mm weld bead is required to eliminate the need for deburring on the surfaces. In many cases, the weld bead is limited to solid-coloured and laminated profiles, but this is not mandatory.
For the welding of PVC profiles, our company offers a sufficiently varied range, with our portfolio of suppliers enabling us to meet the needs of all customers, regardless of budget or requirements.
